The band, who hail from Portland, Oregon, released a stack of incredible recordings through the 1980s and early 1990s – perhaps most notably the 1990 classic Feel The Darkness – before eventually dissolving back in 1993.
They started playing shows intermittently about half a decade later and have continued to do so, before releasing another LP Latest Will And Testament in 2006 – recorded just before and released just after the death of the great Pig Champion, the band's guitarist.
Now they're coming to Australia, the band led by original frontman Jerry A and featuring a number of other members from throughout the band's past. There's a good chance you thought you'd never get to see the mighty Poison Idea live in concert, but your chance comes this May. The dates are below, ticket and support details are still to come.
This week's new sets include music from locals Gurrumul, Josh Pyke and West Thebarton Brothel Party plus new tunes from The Maccabees and Albert Hammond Jr.
