Some great news has been announced for local electronic muso Chet Faker today - his debut EP Thinking In Textures has achieved gold status, selling 35,000 copies in Australia.

The news comes nearly two years after the collection was released via Remote Control. He was awarded the Independent Music Award for Best Independent Single/EP for the release in 2012.

It's been a busy time since the EP was released - from playing numerous live shows and festivals to having one of his covers featuring in last year's Superbowl coverage - the Melbourne muso, real name Nick Murphy, has barely stopped. He recently teamed up with 2013 star Flume to put out a collaborative EP called Lockjaw.

He recently performed during the Falls Festival series, as well as Field Day and Southbound over the new year period.
