More names have also been confirmed for the Big Star Third tribute

The already massive Sydney Festival line-up has grown today, with some more international and local musicians added to the program.

The Big Star's Third tribute will include a few more familiar faces come January, with Cat Power, Tim Rogers, Kim Salmon and Dave Faulkner added to the list of names that include Kurt Vile, Skylar Gudasz and Brett Harris. UK music icon Edwyn Collins has already been announced for the festival but he will now also join the Big Star tribute.

And the unique indie sounds of Cat Power will also be on display at two of her own headline shows. The singer-songwriter, whose real name is Chan Marshall, will perform in the Circus Ronaldo Tent twice on Friday 24 January.

Rounding out the new names is Dirty Three guitarist Mick Turner will also take the stage with a full band in tow and entertain punters on Thursday 23 January in the Circus Ronaldo Tent.
