We caught up with the WA country act and had them play us some songs.

More Ruby Boots More Ruby Boots

We continue our run of intimate live performances from some of Western Australia's finest up and coming acts today with a set from the great Ruby Boots.

The session featured Ruby herself and guitarist Lee Jones (who switches to lap steel for the second number), the two of them giving us a very pleasant taste of the kind of material that has made the group one of the most talked about acts in the West for a while now. They'll have a new record out next year, but you'll have to wait and see if there two tracks make the cut.

They kicked off with Walk Away, a jaunty kind of country blues number, which you can check out here:

And you can watch their performance of the achingly beautiful Middle Of Nowhere here:

Ruby Boots will be over on the east coast to perform at Festival Of The Sun in a couple of weeks' time, but if you don't have a ticket for that then you're shit outta luck; it's completely sold out. They do play a Sydney show while they're out here as well, details are in theGuide.

If you're in Western Australia, you can catch them playing Pica Bar this Saturday night, with Hundred Acre Wood and The Scotch Of Saint James.
