Let the chase begin

Arcade Fire and Katy Perry are fighting for top spot on the ARIA Album Chart this week, according to midweek figures, but it could all be in trumped by Eminem's new album.

With Perry's Prism debuting at number one last week and Arcade Fire's Reflektor the strongest seller so far of last Friday's releases, Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP2 only digital and physical retailers yesterday. At this stage it's too hard to get a read on how well its selling, but form suggests it'll be troubling the top three spots, regardless of the reduced sale period.

Australians Cut/Copy are still waiting for their sales to steady, they're moving between a top ten and top 20 debut with Free Your Mind while Melbourne's Gossling's could crack the top 20 with Harvest if she has a strong finish to the week.

Other debuts will come from Avril Lavinge's Avril Lavinge and Andre Rieu's Andre Rieu Celebrates ABBA/Music Of The Night, which are both hvering around the top ten mark.

Further down is Future Music Festival guest Tinie Tempah's Demonstration, Susan Boyle's Home For Christmas and CMC Rocks The Hunter headliner Toby Keith's Drinks After Work.

Lana Del Rey's Born To Die (The Paradise Edition) is getting a sales bump this week, as are Pink's Greatest Hits… So Far!!!, Guns N' Roses' Greatest Hits and The Eagles' The Very Best Of The Eagles.

The ARIA Singles Chart is anyone's guess after Katy Perry's run at #1 with Roar was halted last week by reality TV talent quest winner Dani Im and her Alive. Im's massive sales should drop off considerably this week, leaving the door open for Roar or One Direction's Story Of My Life, which debuted at three last week.

Eminem's The Monster featuring Rihanna is moving again, though, as are his other tracks Berzerk and Survival. Havana Brown's Warrior is also enjoying strong sales.

Expect new single debuts from Taylor Henderson's Borrow My Heart, Jai Waetford's Your Eyes, Third D3gree's Different Kind Of Love, Lupe Fiasco featuring Ed Sheeran's Old School Love and Flo Rida's How I Feel.
