Rock powerhouse Pearl Jam have reached the top of the ARIA Albums Chart this week with their latest album Lightning Bolt, their first record in four years. It is the US heritage grunge act's eighth Australian number one album.

The Big Day Out headliners knocked Miley Cyrus and her new album Bangerz off the top spot. Cyrus dropped down to three, while current Aussie tourist, New Zealand's Lorde moved into second place with her first full-length Pure Heroine.

As also predicted by midweek figures, local DJ/producer Havana Brown scored a top ten placing, with her debut studio album Flashing Lights coming in at six. English singer-songwriter John Newman's Tribute is in at seven and Vengeance Falls from US heavy metallers Trivium scored is in at eight (becoming their third Aus top ten album).

The Findlay sisters of Stonefield just missed out on a top 20 spot, with their self-titled debut reaching 21, while Beatles legend Paul McCartney landed just behind them at 22 with his 16th solo album New. British duo Chase & Status also entered the chart for the first time with their album Brand New Machine at 38. Landing just outside the top 50 were American rockers Mayday Parade at 52 with Monsters In The Closet while local artists Loon Lake are in at 76 with Gloamer and Pludo are at  80 with Haywire.

Popstar Katy Perry once again held onto her top spot in the ARIA Singles Chart, with her anthem Roar scoring its eighth consecutive week at number one (tied with Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines for the longest stay at number one in 2013 so far). Avicii's Hey Brother jumped up from 14 into second place this week (giving the Swede his third top five hit here), while James Blunt, who recently announced an Australian tour, came in third with Bonfire Heart.

Despite cancelling their upcoming tour together, Pitbull and Ke$ha debuted with their new track Timber at six. Local urban collective Justice Crew nabbed 15th place with Everybody, plus the new song from Calvin Harris featuring Alesso & Hurts, Under Control came in at 17. Eminem had two tracks off his upcoming album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 debut in the chart. Survival scored 18th spot, with the controversial Rap God in at 40.

In ARIA's Music DVDs Chart there is no stopping Andre Rieu-mania, the Dutch violinist so beloved by grandmothers holds six of the top ten positions, including the number one spot with The Magic Of Movies.
