And they have a double-CD scheduled for 2014

More Black Cab More Black Cab

Four years on from their debut full-length, Melbourne's Black Cab have announced the release of Go Slow EP, featuring two sweet double A-side singles, as well as the planned release for a new double-LP and a range of launch gigs to get fans reacquainted.

The double A-sides are titled Go Slow and Games of the XXI Olympiad, the drone come electronica outfit working closely with UK producer and ex-Death In Vegas member Timothy Holmes, with an additional double LP due for release in June next year.

Black Cab's Go Slow EP, which you can listen to a few tracks from here, will show the transition into a more electronic sound, something that will be ever-present in the 2014 release, heavily-inspired by the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games and use of performance enhancing steroids mainly by the East German team.

"It's been fun working with Tim," said Black Cab's Andrew Coates.

“We shoot him files and ideas and he works something up and we have a listen and go from there. It's actually considerably easier than being coped up in a mixing studio for days on end.”

The EP, also featuring remixes by Tim Holmes and Simon Polinski, will be launched over several east coast dates in November - see theGuide for all the info.
