Dead Letter Circus Passports ‘Locked’ In US Embassy During Shutdown

Brisbane progressive metal act Dead Letter Circus are back on track to complete their American tour after their performance visas were approved by authorities at the “11th hour”.

The tour, on which they're supporting technical metal band Periphery, had been in doubt after the US Government shutdown had left their passports “locked in the US embassy”.

“Fingers were crossed, flights were moved three times, and shows were cancelled in the US,” the band said in a statement today.

As a result of the delay the band missed shows in Baltimore and Norfolk. They were able to pick up the tour for the third date, in Atlanta.

On the back of their second full-length record The Catalyst Fire, the band have played South Africa's Krank'd Up Festival before touring the UK, Germany and Belgium on a co-headline tour with Monuments. While the future of their world tour's US leg was up in the air they also landed a slot on Germany's Euroblast Festival.

The record debuted at #2 on the ARIA Album Charts.
