Band claim "exciting" reason will be revealed next week

Leading post-hardcore outfit The Amity Affliction have cancelled one of next week's Melbourne shows, with band saying “exciting” developments have forced their hand.

Tickets for the Thursday 24 October show will now be valid for the show the day earlier at The Palace Theatre. They also have an under 18 show Tuesday 22.

“Due to some exciting unforeseen circumstances we have to cancel our show in Melbourne on Thursday the 24th of October,” the band's statement read.

"All tickets bought for this show will be valid for our show at the Palace on Wednesday the 23rd. If you are unable to attend this show refunds are available from the point of purchase.

“Everything will become clearer next week!”

The tour, which features supports from Chelsea Grin, Stick To Your Guns and In Heart's Wake kicks off at Brisbane's Riverstage this Friday.

They've been busy lately with a Lana Del Rey cover Too Legit To Quit (Born To Die) and with vocalist Ahren Stringer re-recording vocals from their YoungBloods track for Illy's latest single.
