Falls Festival And Mullum Festival Announce Songwriting Comp

In a sweet joint-project, Mullum Music Festival and the Byron Bay leg of the Falls Music & Arts Festival have announced the 2013 Hitting The Road Songwriting Competition, with some awesome prizes and the opportunity to perform at both festivals for the winner.

Budding songwriters can enter the Hitting The Road comp by penning an original song with the notion of a songwriter “hitting the road”, recording it on mp3 and emailing or posting the tune to festival organisers.

The winner will get sweet perks including a profile feature in Rhythms Magazine's December edition, additional promotional opportunities and the best prize of all – the opportunity to perform at both Mullum Music Fest and Falls Music & Arts Festival in Byron Bay.

Judging the comp will be Editor Marty Jones from Rhythm Magazine, Director of Falls Festival Brandon Saul and Director of Mullum Music Festival Glenn Wright, with applications open now and closing Friday 1 November - for details head to the Mullum page.

Mullum Music Festival has been busy announcing awesome initiatives in the last few weeks,  also unveiling their youth mentorship program in late-September, adding to their sweet list of acts performing in Mullumbimby this November, including Raul MidonThe BasicsThe Barefoot Divas and more.

Meanwhile, incredibly popular New Year's event Falls Music & Arts Festival added Byron Bay to their venues earlier this year, bragging a sweet lineup including The Roots, Vampire Weekend, The Wombats and many more.
