Police deny they were the ones to shut it down

Notorious Brisbane party duo Dune Rats have had a pool party on Queensland's Sunshine Coast shut down just nine minutes into their set, the band have claimed.

The band were due to play at Caloundra's Kings Beach Pool last Friday 27 September, but apologised the following day on Facebook for being cut short.

“Thanks to all the legends who came to the Pool Party yesterday,” they wrote. “Sorry we were cut short. Funnest 9 minutes ever but.”

A representative from Queensland Police confirmed to theMusic.com.au today that police attended the party and dealt with two cases of intoxicated individuals.

They also claimed that the party was shut down by security, not themselves.

A representative for Kings Beach Pool, via Sunshine Coast Council, has not returned theMusic.com.au's call today.

Last week the band were taken off a festival bill in Vietnam due – in part – to their bong-featuring Red Light, Green Light DZ video clip.
