Venue was damaged by fire

Sydney's Lansdowne Hotel will officially re-open its doors to live music mid-October, after a fire caused its closure in January this year.

Currently booked by Clayton Ries, who has worked on The Gaelic and The Annandale Hotel, amongst many others, in the past, the official return show will take place Friday 18 October.

Keeping with the city venue's reputation, the show will be free. The line-up will be announced Turesday 24 September.

Following the fire damage, which destroyed two rooms and caused structural concerns, the venue has had a refurbishment and will present itself as a “New York warehouse”, with a themed diner menu.

In an announcement the venue said, “Live music plays an important part in the cultural fabric of Sydney, and as an iconic live music venue, the Lansdowne remains committed to both its patrons and bands.”

The venue re-opened in June and has stepped back into live music, with The Lazys and The Stiffys already performing this month.
