Harvest Festival Reportedly Close To Cancellation

Ticket sales are poor across the board according to AJ Maddah

Earlier this week it was revealed that Harvest Festival's Brisbane leg was under threat to be cancelled, with promoter AJ Maddah admitting on his Twitter account that the event's ticket sales were lagging.

Now it appears that the entire festival is on the brink of cancellation, with overall poor ticket sales making it "too risky" for the boutique event to go ahead in 2013, Maddah has told Fairfax.

"I'm happy to assume risk when that risk is to me, but there comes a point where the risk is to suppliers and bands and everyone involved." Maddah also admitted the lagging sales have left him a loss of up to $5.5 million.

On whether Harvest has looked at any back-up ideas to save the event, Maddah said "at this point it looks like it will disassociate into several tours."
