Both artists hunting Boy & Bear

Sydney's Boy & Bear will have to hold off both Bluesfest headliner John Mayer and Soundwave headliners Avenged Sevenfold this week if they're to stay atop the ARIA Albums Chart

Midweek figures have indicated that both Mayer's Paradise Valley and Avenged Sevenfold's Hail To The King have the number one spot in their sights, with Mayer slightly ahead at this stage. His sales have been helped by Bluesfest's announce earlier this week.

However the hype surrounding Soundwave means that Avenged Sevenfold, who were named on Soundwave last Friday – the day their album came out – is sill a volatile mover.

Boy & Bear's Harlequin Dream was number one by a long way last week, so it's a debut that has the best chance of dethroning it this week.

Both are ahead of Franz Ferdinand's Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action, which is tracking solidly, but not enough to be looking at top three at the moment.

Other debuts that should continue on into the top 50 are Perfect Tripod's Australian Songs, Wendy Matthews' The Welcome Fire, Sara Storer's Lovegrass, Tedeschi Trucks Band's Made Up Mind and A$AP Ferg's Trap Lord.

Thanks to a strong single One Direction's Up All Night is a bullet performer this week, as is John Williamson's A Hell Of A Career!.

In the ARIA Singles Chart Katy Perry's Roar will look to consolidate number one spot, while OneRepublic will have a second track in the top 50 in the form of Something I Need. Debuting at 62 last week, Paramore's Ain't It Fun will push into the top 50, as will Haim's The Wire (58 last week) and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Schoolboy Q & Hollis' White Walls (65 last week).

Jessie J's Wild EP looks to jump into the top 20 from 42 as older tracks James Morrison's I Won't Let You Go and Coldplay's Fix You are experiencing sales boosts.
