Southbound Adds The Roots To Festival Line-Up

US outfit are heading West after all

Perth's Southbound Festival has added The Roots to its line-up after previously announcing Vampire Weekend, Solange, Hermitude, and Neil Finn.

The festival traditionally shares the majority of its bill with the east coast's Falls Festivals and in an email to 'loyal' punters this morning they indicated that they have negotiated the inclusion of the legendary US outfit. The were not on the first announcement due to filming commitments as the house band for Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show.

The full line-up is now:

(CHK CHK CHK), Asta, Big Scary, Bombino, Bonobo, Chet Faker, Crystal Fighters, Flight Facilities, Gossling, Grizzly Bear, Hanni El Khatib, Hermitude, James Vincent McMorrow, London Grammar, MGMT, Neil Finn, Pond, RÜFÜS, Solange, The Cat Empire, The Preatures, The Roots, The Wombats, Tom Odell, Vampire Weekend, Violent Femmes and White Denim.

The festival will also announce a handful of local acts in the lead-up to the two-day camping event.

Tickets go on sale Monday 2 September, 9am local time. Select festival-goers have been invited to purchase tickets at last year's prices in an exclusive pre-sale.

The event takes place Friday 3 and Saturday 4 January at Sir Stewar Bovell Park, Busselton.
