Ex-EMI Exec Named Village Sounds Group CEO

Matthew Evans joins Jessica Ducrou's team

Matthew Evans has been named CEO of the Village Sounds Group, the newly-created role to oversee Jessica Ducrou's interests across various festivals and other companies.

Evans, who was previously EMI's CFO of Australasia, will manage Ducrou's stakes in Splendour In The Grass, The Falls Festival, Homebake, Village Sounds Agency, Secret Sounds Touring, Secret Sounds Connect and North Byron Parklands.

Today Ducrou – who was recently named the sixth most powerful person in the Australian music industry – said, “The Village Sounds Group has expanded exponentially over the past few years so I'm delighted to welcome Matt, with his exceptional set of skills and experience, to lead the management and growth of the group. This is a terrific time for us as we embark on a truly exciting phase for our businesses.”

Evans is now based in the company's Byron Bay office and added, “I have long admired the Village Sounds Group of companies and festivals so am thrilled to take this role, working with Jess and her amazing teams. To be working so closely with the live music experience is a prospect I am relishing.”
