Fans of Texan Day-Glo rock come church choir musical experience The Polyphonic Spree will be welcoming their weekend Splendour In The Grass appearance with more celebration, the group announcing the release of their fourth studio record and first original album since 2007.

The band, formed by Tim Delaughter and who will appear at Byron Bay's Splendour this Saturday night playing their version of The Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack, will drop new record, Yes, It's True, in Australia and New Zealand in the second half of this year – already releasing a new single and the record's opener called You Don't Know Me.


Yes, It's True is yet another crowd-funding success story, seeing fans pledge $136,505 to Kickstarter in less than two months, allowing Polyphonic Spree to record to unique 11-track offering ranging from euphoric to sombre. Below is the tracklist, with each tune given a section number and a subtitle, the usual tune classification used in their three previous records .

The Polyphonic Spree also energised the crowd at this year's South By Southwest music conference in Austin, Texas, playing an uplifting set that unveiled the new lineup, sound and look for the band.
