Bliss N Eso Topple The Voice & Hillsong To Grab Top Chart Spot

It was never going to be easy, but Aussie hip hop heavyweights Bliss N Eso have scored their second concurrent number one album with Circus In The Sky debuting in the top spot of the ARIA charts in its first week of release.

To get there, they had to hold out the winner of reality TV singing competition The Voice, Harrison Craig, and the might of the Hillsong Live church, who took second and third spots this week respectively.

Bliss N Eso's album became the highest selling first week for a domestic artist and were second only to Daft Punk overall. It is believed they amassed over 20,000 scans.

The latest LP from Dream On Dreamer, Loveless, debuted at number 29 this week, while Melbourne indie duo Big Scary weren't far behind, entering the charts at number 32. The mini album from former Short Stack front man Diviney debuted in 45th spot, just one spot ahead of Ash Grunwald, whose Gargantua album, recorded with Scott and Andy from The Living End, made its entry into the chart in spot number 46.

On the singles chart, Robin Thicke has finally had to concede the number one position that has been his for the best part of the past couple of months – his Blurred Lines track now sits in second position as Swedish EDM hotshot Avicii snatches the top spot with his track Wake Me Up. Passenger's Let Her Go and Daft Punk's Get Lucky are booted from the top ten, sitting in 11th and 12th positions respectively this week, while Pompeii by Bastille plummets from sixth to 14th spot.

The eponymous EP from Sheppard climbs from 21 to 19, Vance Joy's newly-gold Riptide is up five spots to 24, while young New Zealander Lorde – who's killing it in the US at present – also leaps to her highest spot on the Aussie charts thus far, The Love Club EP currently sitting in 26th position.

Birds Of Tokyo's When The Night Falls Quiet sneaks into the chart at 43, while Zedd, who was recently announced for this year's Stereosonic, drops in at 45 with Clarity (feat. Foxes).
