We already knew that they were heading out on a national tour together, but things are so good between Ash Grunwald and his new rhythm section Scott Owen and Andy Strachan from The Living End that they've decided to hit the studio and cut an LP while the chance is there!

The album is going to be called Gargantua and releasedon Friday 20 June through Shock. Given that the idea for an album was only really cooked up two weeks ago, this is pretty impressive and hopefully there'll be an exciting and spontaneous energy that pumps through these tunes.

As well as a couple of new originals and some reworked versions of some of Grunwald's best previous material, there are a couple of covers are in there as well, notably their rendition of Crazy by Gnarls Barkley, Black & Blue by legendary Aussie blues rockers Chain and the brilliant Smokestack Lightning, one of Howlin' Wolf's most iconic tracks of all time.
