The Breeders, The Jesus Lizard, The Scientists and Sleep are part of announcement number one.

While they have acknowledged they're aware that Aussies aren't all that into Halloween, the All Tomorrows Parties crew are coming back to Australia to throw one of their Halloween style parties anyway, with Release The Bats announced in Melbourne this evening. First announcement is as follows:

The Breeders performing Last Splash, The Jesus Lizard, The Scientists, Fuck Buttons, Lightning Bolt, Sleep, Forest Swords, Total Control, Hoss, The UV Race, White Walls, The Spinning Rooms

The show will take place at The Westgate Entertainment Centre and Grand Star Receptions in Altona, 13 kilometres outside of Melbourne, on Saturday 26 October, 2013.

Tickets are $150 + bf, they go on sale tomorrow morning from the ATP website and there are only 5000 of them.

Having The Breeders in the country is exciting enough, but to have them here performing their seminal 1993 LP Last Splash is truly something else. But it's not quite spooky enough for Halloween, so thankfully ATP have managed to get The Jesus Lizard to agree to make the journey to Australia for this show, legendary Aussie punks The Scientists (no, we don't know who will be in the band) will make plenty of noise as well and still be pretty killer no matter the line up.

Electro punks Fuck Buttons return with their brutally loud show, two-piece fury bringers Lightning Bolt will attempt to top their past raved about visit, the brilliant stoner doom metal band Sleep (who have released some of the most beautifully scary shit in the past couple of decades) will have thousands of metal fans losing their shit and the evocative and critically acclaimed one man act Forest Swords gets a chance to show Australia what he's all about.

The local bill is solid as a rock as well, Total Control get back to it and Hoss perform something of a rare show, while The UV Race show us a little more of what their Racism is all about. White Walls and The Spinning Rooms round things out; both of these bands bringing dark styles of music with killer melodies and, as such, fitting on this line up brilliantly.

There is still another line up announcement to be made some time in the next few months, so keep your eye out for that. And get working on your costume! The organisers will give out prizes to the best dressed.
