More Iluka More Iluka

Indie pop singer Iluka is the winner of this year's First Break competition.

The Sydney musician was selected from a group of finalists that included Burning Brooklyn, Kelsie Rimmer, Ben Hazlewood and Ginger & Drum.

For her win, Iluka will receive support for two singles, commercial radio airtime support for touring and marketing over one year and join financing from commercial radio and the Mushroom Group for creating video clips, social media activation and on-road support to bulid a long-term partnership between her and the two organisations.

The competition was a revamped version of the New Artists 2 Radio (NA2R), which ran for the past decade. It was powered by both commercial radio and the Mushroom Group, with the latter's chairman Michael Gudinski saying that it was an "unanimous" decision to select Iluka as the winner.
