Now you can watch from home on the same night if you don't want to brave the crowds

Australia's largest short-film festival, the iconic Tropfest, has just announced a partnership with free to air channel SBS, who will broadcast the event on festival night for the first time.

Tropfest will be screened on SBS on Sunday 17 February from 8:30pm AEDT. This means that viewers all around the country will be able to watch this year's 16 finalists, along with the festival's live crowds, who now number roughly 150,000.

The winner of Tropfest 2013will take home an Toyota Corolla, a Nikon D800 with a couple of thousand worth of lenses, $10,000 in cash and a trip to LA to schmooze with film industry bigwigs.
