Alex Wall drops album date for side-project Wax Witches

More Bleeding Knees Club More Bleeding Knees Club

According to frontman Alex Wall, there's no rest for the wicked, announcing the debut album release of his solo-project Wax Witches - a new badass garage-rock sound that joins his American and Australian heritage - and only days after wrapping up his Nothing To Do tour with Bleeding Knees Club.

Celebrity Beatings is the title of the 16-track full length, influenced by Wall's love of Californian punk and psych culture, producing a more snotty, frantic and lo-fi sound that he assures Bleeding Knees Club fans will love.

The frontman performed nearly instrument himself, with all songs tracked and mixed at his home on Gold Coast, finally mastered by Owen Penglas (from Sydney's Straight Arrows).

The record was written in his downtime from the band, the Wax Witches entity growing to keep boredom at bay.

"Wax Witches is the sound of me in my room alone," says Wall, "without having to bring anyone else into the equation or get any approval. It was fun to create songs so quickly, and also a good way to teach myself how to record."
