Some of Australia's best experimental acts will join the US psych band

More Yeasayer More Yeasayer

Brooklyn's psychedelic masters Yeasayer have announced the three acts to support their Sydney and Melbourne St. Jeromes Laneway Festival sideshows in late-January and early-February.

Along with the beautiful experimentation of Yeasayer who merge styles such as psych pop, indie rock and worldbeat, fans will also experience the experimental nature of Oliver Tank and Fishing, opening the show in Sydney, with star-clad Montero giving fans a treat in Melbourne.

Oliver Tank has skyrocketed to international recognition, releasing his debut EP Dreams and displaying his mix of instruments and computers to create beautiful sounds capes and a sound that has been compared to Bon Iver and James Blake. He will be joined at Sydney's Metro by Blue Mountain's act Fishing, delivering beat driven ocean-scapes in their two singles Choy Lin and White Sheet Beach, both acts set to have a new release in 2013, with Fishing dropping their debut record early this year.

Melbourne fans will get a taste of Montero, a project led by visual artist Ben Montero and including a great list of musicians including Geoffrey O'Connor on guitar. The act experiments with the soundscapes of '70s progressive rock, Bee Gees-esque harmonies and dreamy glam pop, to name a few influences, building momentum before their debut album release The Loving Gaze early 2013.
