Tame Impala & Gold Fields Join Aus Acts In US Charts

Having featured heavily in many year-end lists of 2012 musical highlights, the Lonerism album by Perth's Tame Impala has this week returned to US specialist charts.

Lonerism is back at number 12 in the US Independent Albums chart, 14 in the Tastemakers chart, 24 in the Alternative Albums chart and 44 in the Rock Albums chart.

Gold Fields, from Ballarat, have re-entered the Alternative Songs chart at 37 with Dark Again (Lights Out) - the track having previously peaked at 36 here after a five-week stay earlier this year.

They join Adelaide's Atlas Genius in the Alternative Songs chart, where that act's hit Trojans moves to four, its highest point so far after 32 weeks in. Trojans also moves up to 17 in the Rock Songs chart and 19 in the influential Heatseekers chart.

Former Sydney-based club artist Havana Brown also continues to bullet up the US Dance/Club Play charts, her track Big Banana this week moving from 15 to eight.

But the most successful Australian artist in the US charts this week is Hugh Jackman. The actor/singer/dancer features heavily on the Les Miserables: Highlights From The Motion Picture album which debuted at the top of the Soundtrack Chart and entered the the albums chart at 33.
