Gotye Tops US End Of Year Chart

Sia, Havana Brown, Atlas Genius and Kyle Minogue also feature in US top sellers of 2012 charts.

Gotye's Somebody That I Used To Know (featuring Kimbra) has topped the US Hot 100 of 2012 - making it officially the biggest selling song of the year in the States.

The track also topped a range of other year-end charts. Somebody is the number one Radio Song, the number one Digital Song, the number one Adult Pop Song and the number one Alternative Song. It's also the number five selling Ring Tone of the year in the US and a remixed version of the song is the number six Dance/Club Play track of the year.

Other Australian artists also appeared in the US Hot 100 of 2012: Wild Ones by Flo Rida and Sia is at 11 (also the #9 Digital Song, #16 Radio Song and #50 Ring Tone); Titanium also by Sia, with David Guetta, is at 24 (also the #23 Dance/Club Play Song, #26 Radio Song and #33 Digital Song); We Run The Night by Havana Brown and Pitbull is at 90 (also the #40 Dance/Club Play song).

Gotye also ranked as the number 24 Top Artist of 2012, with Kimbra ranking at 84 (and Gotye ranked number three Top New Artist as well). Gotye's Making Mirrors album is ranked 27 in the Billboard 200 top selling albums of 2012 chart (Adele is number one with 21).

Sia also ranked number 13 in the Dance/Club Play songs of 2012 chart with Wild One Two, another Guetta collab, while Kylie Minogue's Timebomb ranked 18 in that chart.

Adelaide's Atlas Genius made it in at 34 on the Alternative Songs of 2012 chart with Trojans (this week the song reached number five in the Alternative Songs chart, it's highest point to date after 30 weeks in). Plus, Dead Can Dance landed at eight with Anastasis in the year-end World Albums chart.

Gotye's Somebody is also the top selling single of the year in Canada where a cover by Walk Off The Earth also ranked 96 for the year. Sia also ranked well in Canada: at eight with Wild Ones and 23 with Titanium.

In the weekly US charts this week Havana Brown's Big Banana rose from 33 to 24 in the Dance/Club Play chart.
