'It's A Whole New Era For Everybody,' Rodriguez-Lopez Speaks ATD-I, Mars Volta

In an interview with Muso magazine and theMusic.com.au, Rodriguez-Lopez makes it clear priorities lie elsewhere.

When in the country on tour with his brand new project Bosnian Rainbows (which also features Le Butcherettes frontwoman Teri Gender Bender) Omar Rodriguez-Lopez opened up about the future of the acts for which his most recognised - At The Drive-In and The Mars Volta.

In the interview, conducted by Muso editor Greg Philips, Rodriguez-Lopez looks back fondly at the recent At The Drive-In reunion and reveals that it has taught him to keep an open mind with regards to what will come next in his career.

"I spent 11 years saying I would never play with them again and then I played with them," he says. "I know now not to say never."

But as far as further activity for both At The Drive-In and The Mars Voita is concerned, Rodriguez-Lopez made it clear that there are other project that each member is focused on that will take prioity over either of those bands.

"Cedric [Bixler-Zavala - frontman of both At The Drive-In and The Mars Volta] has a wonderful record coming out that he is focusing on. It is a really exciting time for all of us because we are all doing something different."

Speaking about The Mars Volta in particular, Rodriguez-Lopez says that the band won't be active for some time in the future.

"Put that to rest for now but who knows what will happen in the future," he says. "It is a whole new era for everybody."
