Julia Stone – one half of the Angus & Julia Stone duo currently enjoying some time to themselves – will be the next artist to take part in the Heavenly Sounds series next year, which will see the singer/songwriter play churches and cathedrals around the country.

Earlier this year Julia released her latest solo record To The Horses, and that will be brought to life with a band featuring Ross Irwin (Cat Empire, The Bamboos), Ben Edgar and Ed Fairly (Gotye), who will all be instrument-swapping throughout the set.

Stone said today, “The most exciting for me is that between the four of us, three of us play the trumpet – so it will make for some very sweet horn arrangements. From years of playing big band music through school I am so thrilled that I will be able to harmonise with other brass. All the boys sing beautifully so there will be lovely vocal arrangements that take the songs to more dreamy places.”

Melbourne indie pop outfit Vance Joy will be supporting the tour around the nation. Tour dates are as follows:

Friday 22 February – St Joseph's Church, Perth
