Post-Little Red band New Gods offer debut EP

In the wake of Little Red arrives New Gods, and their debut and self-titled EP which will be released this Friday 30 December.

Featuring Dominic Byrne and Adrian Beltrame from Little Red, Richard Bradbeer from Eagle & The Worm, Sam Raines, and Dale Packard from Ground Components, the band are more introspective and moody then their previous efforts. But hell, don't take just our word for it – we're streaming the EP in full in the lead-up to its release.

A year in the making, the band recorded tracks with producers-supreme Scott Horscroft and Steven Schram.

If you need further example that this is a more 'serious' project for the ex-Little Red lads, you need only look to Byrne's description of final track Skipping Stone, which he names as his personal favourite.

“I wrote some of those lyrics at the beach after being a bit down and then feeling better which happened to me a lot. When I sing it live it usually brings back all these experiences in my life; interactions with people and scenes where there are waves crashing or you're out in the country and can see all the stars in the night sky.”

Out this Friday, the band will hit Sydney and Melbourne for headline shows early next year:

Friday 11 January – Northcote Social Club, Melbourne
Saturday 12 January – GoodGod Small Club, Sydney
