Against Me! Confirm First Aus Headline Dates With Laura Jane Grace

Against Me! are coming back to Australia for the Big Day Out festival, and the news that they have announced sideshows is not remarkable in itself. But next year's tour for the much-adorned punk outfit is one of the most intriguing asides of next year's festival.

Earlier this year frontman Tom Gabel announced that he was transgender, and would be changing his name to Laura Jane Grace as part of his gender transition. So far it seems that fans have been supportive of the decision, if Grace's first shows as a woman are anything to go by.

Playing tracks from their upcoming sixth studio album – Transgener Dysphoria Blues – the band will play two sideshows at the following dates:

Thursday 17 January – Manning Bar, Sydney
Tuesday 22 January – The Hi-Fi, Melbourne
