We wanted to bring you some exciting Blink-182 news this afternoon and seeing as those Sidewaves we've been hearing all about don't look like being announced in time for our deadline, we thought we'd go digging for something a little different.

A source has alerted us to Travis Barker, drummer extraordinaire, and the training regime he is undergoing in his home city of Los Angeles.

Barker is working with Michael Giovanni Rivera of Giovanni Training on an exercise program that will help him improve his hand and foot speed as well as the endurance required to drum on lengthy tours.

“Main purpose for our training is increasing hand and foot speed to improve his drumming along with increasing cardiovascular and muscular endurance to with stand long performance and tours that get demanding on the body,” he says. “We do that by high intensity training, sport specific movements geared towards drumming. Also work on core and strength.

“Since he is a MMA fan I'll put some of that in there too, because that will quicken the hands and feet as well. So we do multiples of things. It's pretty cool variety; I'll even mix in drumming in some intervals.”

Blink-182 are here for the Soundwave Festivals in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth in February and March of next year.
