Kylie Minouge will be involved in this year's New Year's Eve fireworks display, according to Mushroom Group supremo Michael Gudinski.

Accepting the Helpmann Award for Best Australian Contemporary Concert on behalf of Minogue at the Sydney Opera House last night, Gudinski read an acceptance note from the pop icon before adding that “she'll be back” for the New Year's Eve celebrations.

Minogue, who was nominated twice in the category and picked up the gong for the Kylie Aphrodite Les Folies tour from 2011. To a crowd dominated by theatre and musical industry members Gudinski said, “This was a theatre show that we moved every night.”

Accepting the award for Best International Contemporary Concert, Chugg Entertainment CEO Matthew Lazarus-Hall thanked promoting partners Van Egmond Group, who “did all the heavy lifting… there were weeks between announcement and on sale, it was frenetic, they covered everything.”
