Adrian Beltrame talks New Gods

Adrian Beltrame of Little Red has spoken to theMusic about his new project New Gods, which has come after the split of his former a band - a split he seems slightly hesitant to discuss.

Beltrame says, “I think a lot bands are made up of people who aren't necessarily the same but that can be what makes it great, that you're all coming from different places but when you get together you're more than the sum of the parts or something.”

Earlier this year, vocalist and songwriter Tom Hartney left the band to embark on a new musical project Major Tom & The Atoms, which sparked speculation around the future of Little Red. It was later announced that the Melbourne five-piece called it quits.

Since then, each band member has taken a new journey, Beltrame's being New Gods – a five-piece who're about to launch their first single, On Your Side.

“We've all known each other for a while and really love what each other do. When the five of us started playing together it felt great and here we are.”

Last week, Taka Honda announced via Facebook that he too would be moving towards a new direction with his band The Hondas, and the release of a brand new single, Cop Song.

He went on to declare, “Youth is wasted on the young. I have also wasted my youth. But, I've been able to waste my youth so beautifully thanks to Little Red and our fans. Thank you for your support. Thank you, Dom, Age, Quang and Tom!”

“For Taka Honda, 'Little Red' was the past and 'The Hondas' is the future.”
