The label will assemble staff from around the country and New Zealand

TheMusic.com.au can reveal that major label EMI will hold its annual internal conference at BIGSOUND this year.

The Brisbane-based BIGSOUND is growing into one of the industry's major events on the calendar, with a range of conferences as well as 120 bands over two nights of showcases.

Today Mark Poston, EMI's Chairman and Senior VP, Marketing Australia, said that, “It seemed too perfect to anchor our annual EMI staff conference around BIGSOUND, which is now turning into Australian music's version of South By Southwest.

"I'm bringing all our staff from all over the country and a few Kiwis as well into Brisbane so we can all catch some great live music, attend some of the great panels and keynotes and generally spend three days enveloped in music."
