The line up for the December festival should be announced before long.

The Homebake festival will return in 2012 with initial details released by the festival today.

The event will feature four stages of live music, a cinema pavilion with a line up of films curated by actor Kieran Darcy-Smith, a new comedy stage – presented by the Sydney Comedy Festival team – as well as the usual roving performers, food and market stalls, signing tent and more.

The all-Antipodean musical celebration will be happening on Saturday 8 December at Sydney's The Domain, Royal Botanic Gardens and tickets will be on sale Thursday 16 August. What we really want to know, of course, is what the line up looks like, and this afternoon's email seems to suggest we might have an idea as to who has been selected to play the 2012 event within the next week.

A video featuring Aussie actress Emma Lung came with today's announcement.
