They were once the brattiest pop punk band around and while things have changed a little in the Green Day camp over the past decade or so, you can't deny they're one of the world's truly enormous punk rock bands. It goes without saying then that the release of their ninth album, which follows on from 2009's 21st Century Breakdown is something that millions of rock music fans are eager for.
The band's new record will be called ¡Uno! and its US release is scheduled for Tuesday 25 September. One would imagine the Australian release will be around the same time. Warner have informed us that the record will be released in Australia on Friday 21 September.
¡Uno! will be the first in a trilogy of records (with ¡Dos! due in November and ¡Tré! early in 2013), as was announced in April. Today the band have unveiled the cover art for the new record and a video teaser that shows a little of what we can expect from the album.
