The meger of XYZ Networks, home to Channel [V], Max and more, to Foxtel has already claimed the job of XYZ's CEO

Today's merger of Pay-TV companies Foxtel and Austar has seen XYZ Networks, home to music channels Channel [V], MAX, [V] Hits and the Country Music Channel, join the newly formed Foxtel Networks group.

The deal, which came under the scrutiny of the Australian Competition And Consumer Commission before receiving approval in April, will see a consolidation of channels across Foxtel and Austar.

It is not clear today what consequences the merger will have on XYZ staff. XYZ have not responded to theMusic.com.au's request for clarification today.

The merger has already claimed the job of XYZ's CEO Bruce Mann, who stepped down in April.
