Annandale Hotel out of the shit in May

They're repairing the toilets. For reals.

There's been an exciting development at The Annandale Hotel. The beloved Parramatta Rd live music venue, which has been in financial, er, shit for the past couple of years, has confirmed that its Buy A Brick scheme has delivered enough money already for the owners to start repairing the joint.

With over 400 bricks sold over the past four months, work has begun on the exterior of the premises.

"If you've driven past the hotel in the last couple of weeks you may have noticed the painter's ladders up outside the pub. The old girl certainly is battered, so we felt it was important for people to see changes for their cash, and so giving her a facelift is the first job on the list," said co-owner Matt Rule.

But, for anyone who's ever felt the call of nature in the middle of a set, the biggest news was saved 'til the very end:

"We're also very happy to say, and I know that pretty much anyone who has been to the hotel will breathe a collective sigh of relief, that work on the dreaded Annandale toilets look like they will start in May. We have one or two things left to finalise, but we should be able to give the builders the green light shortly."
