Gotye and Kimbra Top US Chart

Gotye and Kimbra's Somebody That I Used To Know has hit the number one position on the US Billboard Singles Charts overnight.

The song, which spent eight weeks in the number one position in the ARIA Singles Chart last year and is now certified nine times platinum in Australia, entered the Billboard charts mid-January at number 91 and has been gradually climbing ever since.

Believed to be propelled by his recent appearance on the popular Saturday Night Live program, it's the first US number one by an Australian artist since Brisbane pop duo Savage Garden topped the charts for the second time in 2000 with I Knew I Loved You.
