Cold Chisel were scheduled to play at Melbourne's Festival Hall Thursday 12 April but have pushed the date back a week to Thursday 19 April, they announced today.

If ticketholders are unable to attend the new date, refunds will be offered and the band have apologised "for any inconvenience caused."

The band have been forced into the move after Ian Moss was bitten on the hand by his family cat late yesterday. Bitten on his middle finger, it is infected and badly swollen. Doctors believe that he will be fine to play the Sydney show, which takes place Wednesday 18 April at the Hordern Pavilion.

From hospital Moss said, "I'm sorry to inconvenience our fans who had tickets for Thursday in Melbourne. It's amazing that something like a cat bite can lead to a postponed show - that's what happens when you call your album No Plans. Sorry to be a pussy, I look forward to making amends next week."
