Cold Chisel's Sydney show will be beamed live via satellite to cinemas as the next CinemaLive screening.

The band will play the Hordern Pavilion Wednesday 18 April, 2012, in support of their first new studio album in 14 years – No Plans.

That show will be beamed around the country – and New Zealand – in cinema high definition and Dolby 5.1 sound.

The screening will take place at 9pm along the east coast, 8.30pm in South Australia and Northern Territory and 7pm and Western Australia.

Frontman Jimmy Barnes said today, “We're really proud of this new album and want as many people to hear it as possible. The idea of having this gig beamed out to Cinemas seemed like a great way of getting people to hear a few of the new songs live as well as all the ones they know. We've played a lot of gigs around Australia over the last 35 years but this will be the first time we've played in over 100 places on the same night!”

The album will be released this 6 April, with the band set to headline Bluesfest on the Easter Weekend. The show will be a mixture of classics and material from the new album, which features the last recorded work of late drummer Steve Prestwich.

Tickets will be on sale through cinemalive.com.
