PREMIERE: Mount Saint Leonard - Blame Me

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, roll up for the premiere of Mount Saint Leonard’s debut single, Blame Me, and boy, is it a fine tune perfect for a musky Deep South club during the 1950s.

Formed in 2016, the Melbourne quartet, who’ve worked altogether for front woman Kathleen Mary Lee’s solo work, are set to have a debut album coming in mid-2017, dropping this single as a way to gain momentum.

Together they fuse the modern sounds with old-school blues, funky, offbeat guitar chords and sassy vocals that shape its slow ballad vibe. The band has the ability to creep into mountain-like crescendos, move into frantic guitar and drum work, all while a bass line remains so simply infectious.

To give it an old-school aura, they recorded the track live together to simulate a performance they’d give at a gig, to capture the most organic sound possible.
