"Where the road goes next is easy to predict."

More UNKLE More UNKLE

As a curator of collaborative talent, James Lavelle - the man from Mo'Wax - continues to tease the best out of others while often exposing himself as the unintentional weak link on his own records.

1998's hip hop watermark Psyence Fiction left UNKLE living in a certain DJ's shadow. Regular guest vocalists Gavin Clark and Mark Lanegan later helped form the UNKLE sound (falling angels) and this 2017 model still has Lavelle mastering a sizeable guest list. But, once again, there is career-best sombreness (Farewell and Lanegan-led Looking For The Rain) yet scant expansion. Where the road goes next is easy to predict.
