"Stick to your guns."

More Incubus More Incubus

From an artistic standpoint, it's hard being a veteran rock band in 2017.

What to do when the time comes to release an album, as it always does? You can do what Linkin Park is now doing - aim for the pop charts and then look back in embarrassment when tastes inevitably change. Or like Incubus you can stick to your guns. This isn't to say there are no contemporary influences on 8, or that they've gone back to the weird eclecticism (koto, anyone?) of their '90s output for some reason. No, 8 sounds like Incubus in 2017, without comprising their essence. Which was basically silliness, but when it's this catchy who cares?
