"All about intricate time signatures, delicate melodies and emotions that are unashamedly on their sleeves."

More American Football More American Football

Seventeen years is a long time between a debut album and a follow-up.

In the case of American Football, it’s long enough to build a following beyond cult, and build fan expectations that must have been intimidating to say the least. Expectations that will none the less be likely met with American Football. It's all about intricate time signatures, delicate melodies and emotions that are unashamedly on their sleeves. All with a sensitive emo rock edge from a time before emo became a dirty, marketing buzz word, American Football sounds exactly like a follow-up to its pre-millennium predecessor, without sounding like a dated rehash.
