"Probably 1D's first sonically cohesive record, all rock'n'roll swagger and overzealous lyricism."

More One Direction More One Direction

The band's first album without Zayn Malik and last before entering hiatus mode, Made In The AM is probably 1D's first sonically cohesive record, all rock'n'roll swagger and overzealous lyricism.

They play to their strengths, whether in the simple rise and fall of Drag Me Down or the clap-along rhythms of End Of The Day. They haven't shucked their hero worship though, with the Beatles-inspired Olivia and Fleetwood Mac-esque What A Feeling. Sadly, there's no big pop moments on the album, making these boys sound tired more than anything else.
