"There's a classic Aussie sound to Sidewalk Diamonds."

Proving that being a traditional four-piece doesn't mean you can't attempt grandeur, and that indie rock doesn't have to be slathered in preciousness, Sidewalk Diamonds aren't interested in simplicity on The Postcard Collection.

This is some dense, intricate songwriting, but it never gets so complicated it overshadows the solid melodies and hooks at its core. There's a classic Aussie sound to Sidewalk Diamonds, reminiscent of bands like The Go-Betweens, but it never comes across as derivative or a rehash. The influences might be heavy, but the end result is definitely its own thing.
