"It’s an angular, lo-fi bundle held together with tape, a series of uniques rubbing abrasive shoulders"

With an all-female band list, and proceeds going to the YWCA, Rice Is Nice’s second mixtape is already the best idea for a compilation this year.

A revolving showcase, it’s incoherent in the purest, most wonderful sense of the word, it’s an angular, lo-fi bundle held together with tape, a series of uniques rubbing abrasive shoulders. Out of a strong field, newcomers Totally Mild, Suiix and (comparatively famous) Major Leagues are the standouts. This mix may lack flow, but there comes a time when form needs to bow to high-wattage, flash-bulb talent.
