Just months after Nevermind fever took hold amidst a market of testosterone-fuelled rock, Tori Amos’ girl-at-a-piano art pop solo debut dropped, and was embraced for its unashamed, yet dark femininity.

Remastered and reissued with 18 bonus tracks that cover Little Earthquakes’ B-sides and live tracks, the worth of the release still lies in the album itself. Opener, Crucify, highlights how developed Amos’ adventurous vocal already was in 1992, Precious Things her penchant for gender discussion and Me & A Gun for the taboo-addressing lyrics that remain an integral part of her identity.
