"It’s entirely unlike anything he, or anyone else, has done before."

More Aphex Twin More Aphex Twin

Having a pretty weird sense of humour and a history of song titles that are mostly deranged gobbledegook, it’s a bit of surprise to discover that Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments Pt2 is exactly what it suggests, wherein acoustic or “real” instruments are manipulated mechanically.

It’s a bit like peering into a kooky scientist’s soundlab as tightly-hammered Disklavier piano duels with MIDI pipe organs. It won’t win the plaudits that the comeback album Syro did, but it’s entirely unlike anything he, or anyone else, has done before.
